At LMV Electric our licensed electricians can install & repair Smoke detectors and Carbon monoxide detectors in your home or business.
Smoke alarms should be replaced 10 years from the date of manufacture to assure they are working properly. We help our clients from Arlington Heights, Bannockburn, Barrington, Deerfield, Des Plaines, Elk Grove Village, Glencoe, Highland Park, Inverness, Kenilworth, Kildeer, Lake Bluff, Lake Forest, Mettawa, Morton Grove, Mount Prospect, Niles, Northbrook, Northfield, Palatine, Park Ridge, Prospect Heights, Rolling Meadows, Wheeling, Wilmette, Winnetka to install smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in their houses.
It is very important to install smoke alarms correctly. There should be a smoke alarm inside each bedroom, outside each sleeping area and on every level of the home, including the basement. If there is a level without bedrooms a smoke alarm should be installed in the living room or den or family room or near the stairway to the upper level. Smoke alarms should not be installed near windows, doors, or ducts where drafts might interfere with their operation.
At LMV Electric we recommend to interconnect all smoke alarms. When one smoke detector sounds they all sound. Interconnection can be done using hard-wiring or wireless technology.
